Alahnna Alvarado is a queer second-generation Filipino-American poet proudly discovering her indigenous Igorot roots. Born and raised on Kumeyaay land in Southern California, she now resides in the ancestral land of the Lenape, or the NYC Metropolitan Area, with her husband and their much-beloved geriatric cat. She often writes about her personal romance with defiance, resilience and hope, and her works have been selected for both in-print and online publication by The Sandy River Review, Evocations Review, Spectrum Literary Journal among others. Alahnna began writing poetry in elementary school and was once mentioned in the San Diego CityBeat as a "local author on the verge," a concept she has been flirting with for many years - she is working on her first manuscript.
